another productive weekend

In addition to working on a few "conventional" fairy tales this weekend,

weekend sketches

These are a few of my new sketches for my next show.
December 4th~ eek!

I was already able to finish koi (bottom left).

I am hoping to finish the other five this week,
along with quite a few new sketches to start on next week.
I can't believe how busy my life is about to get.

I need to revive my thesis.
I need to create a ton of new work.

Okay, maybe it doesn't sound to busy when I wrap it up into two short sentences,
but I was also summoned for jury duty right smack in the middle of it all.

I spent most of the afternoon and early evening
posting new work.

I even had time to create two new pieces since my show last night.
There is no time to take a breather~
I have a show coming up {for First Friday} in December!
I am super excited about it,
and my imagination seems to be, as well.

a floor under the floor!

Two weeks ago, I ripped out the carpet in my studio.
I knew that there was a floor under the subfloor,
and today D cut a hole so that we could take a peek~

This is going to be such a big & exciting project~
I can't wait!

And finally, what I really need to be concentrating on this weekend
is finishing the rest of the pieces for my show next Friday.

I am thankful for the $8 that I just found in the pocket of my jeans.
I am thankful for this gloomy autumn day.
I am thankful that today is completely devoted to art...and my ipod is fully charged.

I am thankful that my imagination is excited to work today.
